For players in the big European football leagues it’s wind down time: I like to think of them lounging around a gold-plated pool waiting for their agents to tell them which colours they’ll be wearing next season - and for how many million.
For the organisers of the East Africa Cup it’s one of the busiest times of the year: the tournament, held in Moshi, Tanzania, will take place between 22nd – 28th June 2009 and there's a lot to organise, from making sure players arrive, sorting accomodation, and making sure the people delivering seminars (like me) have their - often outrageous - requests dealt with efficiently.

*Author’s Note* eventually it won’t be me writing this blog, it’ll be people using sport-for-development and learning media skills, plus sports journalists learning about reporting development issues, as part of the tournament’s programme which also includes
Youth rights (including fair Play/justice/environment/child labour issues)
HIV/Aids and Drugs and Substance abuse
Sports related issues (First aid, sports medicine (injury prevention and treatment)
Leadership/community participation
Volunteerism
Alternative activity e.g. Frisbee
Interfaith dialogue/reconciliation
